Not at all! At Little Blooms Therapy, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow and thrive, with or without a formal diagnosis.
-
Occupational Therapy supports children to develop the skills and confidence needed to participate in everyday activities that matter to them.
If your child experiences challenges with emotional regulation, sensory processing, motor skills, independence, play, social participation or everyday routines, Occupational Therapy may be beneficial.
Not sure where to start? Get in touch! We're happy to discuss your concerns and help you determine whether OT may be the right fit for your child.
-
Your first appointment is all about getting to know your child and family!
This typically involves an initial consultation between the Occupational Therapist and parent or caregiver, without your child needing to be present.
This allows us to explore your child's developmental history, strengths, current functional abilities and everyday challenges, while collaboratively identifying meaningful goals and priorities for therapy.
It's also a wonderful opportunity to ask questions, share concerns and discuss the next steps in your child's therapy journey!
Getting Started
-
Appointment durations are tailored to your child's individual needs, goals and capacity for engagement.
We'll work with you to determine an appropriate session length, ensuring your child has the time and support they need to participate meaningfully in therapy.
-
Every child's therapy journey looks a little different!
The frequency of appointments will depend on your child's individual goals, support needs, family circumstances and available funding.
Together, we'll develop a therapy plan that is realistic, flexible and responsive to your child's progress, with regular opportunities to review and adjust as needed.
-
Parent and caregiver involvement is an important part of our collaborative approach to therapy.
Depending on your child's age, needs and preferences, you may be encouraged to participate in sessions or provided with opportunities to discuss progress, strategies and recommendations.
We recognise that every family is different and will work together to find an approach that best supports your child.
-

Little Blooms Therapy welcomes both NDIS-funded and privately paying families.
For families accessing the NDIS, we currently support children with self-managed or plan-managed funding. As we are not a registered NDIS provider, we are unfortunately unable to accept NDIA-managed funding at this time.
Families are also warmly welcomed to access our services privately, without NDIS funding or a formal diagnosis.
If you're unsure about your funding options, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We're always happy to help you understand your options!
-
Non-face-to-face services refer to the work your OT completes outside of direct appointments to support your child's therapy journey.
While you may not always see this work happening, it plays an important role in ensuring therapy is individualised, meaningful and aligned with your child's goals.
Examples of non-face-to-face services may include:
Session planning and preparation – Developing individualised therapy activities, strategies and resources to support your child's goals.
Report writing and documentation – Preparing assessment reports, progress summaries and other requested documentation.
Collaboration and communication – Liaising with parents, educators and other professionals involved in your child's care.
Resource development – Creating personalised visual supports, home programs and practical resources to support everyday participation.
-
We understand that life with kids can be unpredictable! If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we kindly request at least 2 business days notice.
Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee of up to 100% of the scheduled appointment cost, in accordance with our Service Agreement and applicable NDIS guidelines.
Where appropriate, we will endeavour to utilise the scheduled appointment time for alternative, goal-directed work to support your child's therapy journey. Where alternative work is not suitable or feasible, the cancellation fee will apply, subject to applicable funding rules.
